Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The mean dynamic viscosity of the test item at 20.0 °C was situated between 67.6 and 73.4 mPa.s (deviation of temperature: ± 0.2 °C).
The mean dynamic viscosity of the test item at 40.0 °C was situated between 22.9 and 24.5 mPa.s (deviation of temperature: ± 0.2 °C).
Taking into account the results obtained at 20.0 and 40.0 °C, the test item was considered to have newtonian properties in our experimental conditions. - Executive summary:
Viscosity of the isosorbide diesters.
Test objective
The objective of the test is to determine the dynamic viscosity of the test item.
Method
Apparatus
Viscometer Multi-Visc Fungilab with LCP spindle
Viscosity
The test item was filled in the test vessel. Two tested temperatures were chosen: 20.0 and 40.0 °C. At regular intervals, the dynamic viscosity of test item was automatically measured. The determination of the test item dynamic viscosity was considered to be completed when a plateau was reached. The whole procedure was carried out in duplicate.
Quality criteria for the viscosity test
The temperature of the test was maintained constant with a tolerance of ± 0.2 °C.
Results
The results of the dynamic viscosity measurements are explained as a function of the rotation speed. The viscosity of the test item appeared to be low, for this reason the mobile LCP (adapted for low viscosity) was chosen.
Conclusion
The mean dynamic viscosity of the test item at 20.0 °C was situated between 67.6 and 73.4 mPa.s
(deviation of temperature: ± 0.2 °C).
The mean dynamic viscosity of the test item at 40.0 °C was situated between 22.9 and 24.5 mPa.s
(deviation of temperature: ± 0.2 °C).
Taking into account the results obtained at 20.0 and 40.0 °C, the test item was considered to have newtonian properties in our experimental conditions.
