Additional information

No data are available concerning terrestrial toxicity for Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5 -bis(1,1 -dimethylethyl)-4 -hydroxy-C7 -9 branched alkyl esters (CAS 125643 -61 -0). The substance is not supposed to be directly applied to soil, therefore, it is not expected to be a compartment of concern and the risk to terrestrial organisms is negligible.

Experimental results are available for the substances Benzenepropanoic acid 3,5 -bis(1,1 -dimethylethyl)-4 -hydroxy-2 -ethyl-hexylester (CAS 144429 -84 -5) (Goodband, 2010) and Butyl 3,5 -bis(1,1 -dimethylethyl)-4 -hydroxybenzenepropanoate (CAS 52449 -44 -2) (Schmidt, 2009) regarding toxicity to soil macroorganisms. Both substances were not found to be acutely toxic to earthworm.

Additionally, Butyl 3,5 -bis(1,1 -dimethylethyl)-4 -hydroxybenzenepropanoate (CAS 52449 -44 -2) can be concerned as not acutely toxic to terrestrial plants (Goodband and Mullee, 2009) as well as to soil microorganisms (Clarke, 2009).
