Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
Remove contaminated or saturated clothing.
Inhalation
In case product dust is released:
Possible discomfort: irritation of mucous lining (nose, throat, eyes) cough, sneezing, flow of tears.
Move victims into fresh air.
If symptoms persist, consult a physician for treatment.
Skin contact
Wash off immediately with plenty of water.
If symptoms persist, consult a physician for treatment.
Eye contact
Keeping eyelid open, immediately rinse thoroughly for at least 5 minutes using plenty of water or, if necessary, eye rinsing solution.
Consult an ophthalmologist.
Ingestion
Have the mouth rinsed with water.
Have patient drink plenty of water in small sips.
Consult a physician immediately.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
If required, therapy of irritative effect.
If substance has been swallowed:
Early endoscopy in order to assess mucosa lesions in the oesophagus and stomach which may appear. If necessary, aspirate leftover substance.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable extinguishing media
high volume water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
In case of fire cool endangered containers with water.
In the case of fire, the following hazardous smoke fumes may be produced:
Carbon oxides
nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters
In case of fire: full protective suit and wear a self contained respiratory apparatus
Advice for firefighters
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
With large-scale fire, violent decomposition or even explosion is possible.
Water used to extinguish fire should not enter drainage systems, soil, or stretches of water Ensure there are sufficient retaining facilities for water used to extinguish fire. Contaminated fire-extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with the regulations issued by the appropriate local authorities.
Fire residues should be disposed of in accordance with the regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Wear personal protective equipment.
Keep unauthorized persons away.
Environmental precautions
Prevent product from entering drains.
Do not allow entrance in sewage water, soil or stretches of water.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Pick up mechanically and collect in a suitable container. Avoid formation of dust.
Handling and storage
Handling
Precautions for safe handling
Observe the rules usually applicable when handling chemicals.
Wear personal protective equipment.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
If dusts develop, explosive dust/air mixtures may form.
Avoid dust formation.
Storage
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Keep container away from flammable and explosive substances.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters
Engineering measures
If possible, transfer and handle product in closed systems only. Avoid production of dust.
Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.
Local exhaust as needed to control vapor/dust levels to below recommended limits and/or to prevent health and safety effects as indicated in section 3 and elsewhere on the MSDS.
Moisten dust residues with water, then remove them mechanically and dispose of them in suitable containers.
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection
In case product dust is released or if workplace exposure limit is exeeded:
use respiratory equipment with suitable filter (combined filter A2-P2) or wear a self contained respiratory apparatus
Do not breathe dust.
suitable respiratory equipment:
Dust protection mask in accordance with EN 149 FFP3
Note time limit for wearing respiratory protective equipment.
Hand protection
Recommendation:
suitable protective gloves
Glove material nitrile rubber, The material thickness and rupture time data do not apply to non-solute solids / dusts., The rupture time and material thickness data are guideline values! Exact rupture time / material thickness data can be obtained from the protective glove manufacturer.
Eye protection
close-fitting protective goggles (e.g. closed goggles) or face protection
Keep eyewash bottle to hand
Provide for installation of emergency shower and eye bath.
Skin and body protection
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
suitable protective clothing - Use disposable clothing if appropriate.
Hygiene measures
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
In case of skin contact
Wash off with plenty of water and soap.
No eating, drinking, smoking, or snuffing tobacco at work. Wash face and/or hands before break and end of work.
Take off clothing and shoes contaminated with product. Clean before reuse.
Protective measures
The personal protective equipment used must meet the requirements of directive 89/686/EEC and amendments (CE certification).
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid
Prevent the formation of dust.
Hazardous decomposition products
Decomposition products in combustion and thermal decomposition
carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Further information

Disposal considerations
Product
No waste key number as per the European Waste Types List can be assigned to this product, since such classification is based on the (as yet undetermined) use to which the product is put by the consumer.
The waste key number must be determined as per the European Waste Types List (decision on EU Waste Types List 2000/532/EC) in cooperation with the disposal firm / producing firm / official authority.
Uncleaned packaging
With respect to local regulations, e.g.
dispose of to suitable waste incineration plant.
