Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. Obtain
medical attention if ill effects occur.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water,
holding the eyelids apart for at least 15 minutes. Obtain
immediate medical attention. Continue irrigation until
medical attention can be obtained.
Emergency measure - Skin: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. After
contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.
Obtain immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300ml of water to
drink. Do Not induce vomiting as a first-aid measure.
Obtain medical attention if ill effects occur.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or CO2
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and full protective
clothing must be work in fire conditions
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ensure full personal protection (including respiratory
protection) during removal of spillages.
Prevent entry into drains, sewers or watercourses.
Liquid: Absorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable
absorbent material
Solid: Avoid dust generation. Moisten spillages with water.
Liquid and Solid: Transfer to a container for disposal.
Wash the spillage area with water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Liquid: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation.
Solid: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation.
The material can form flammable dust clouds in air. Dust
clouds may be extremely sensitive to ignition by
electrostatic discharge and other ignition sources. Ensure
good earthing of equipment and personnel.
Storage: Keep container tightly closed
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Valothane lined drums containing not more than 50kg per drum
of Me Alcohol 0530.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Considering other components present in the effluent stream,
recovery is not possible
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not recommended
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal should be in accordance with local, state or
national legislation
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended. All unreacted product remains in product
mother liquors. These are tankered off and sent off-site
for incineration.
