Description of key information

The EC50 values in acute aquatic toxicity of 1,3-bis(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propyl)urea to algae (Raphidocelis subcapitata) and invertebrates (Daphnia magna) were > 100 mg/L. No effects were observed at the highest concentration tested.

Additional information

The toxicity of 1,3-bis(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propyl)urea to aquatic algae (Raphidocelis subcapitata) and invertebrates (Daphnia magna) was investigated according to OECD test guideline 201 and 202, respectively. For aquatic algae, the EC50 value based on growth rate was > 100 mg/L. For Daphnia magna, no adverse effect of 1,3-bis(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propyl)urea on the mobility was observed up to the highest concentration of 100 mg/L. Based on these observations, it can be concluded that no acute aquatic hazard of 1,3-bis(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propyl)urea was identified.
