Description of key information

Based on the available experimental data, it can be concluded that inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when the substance is introduced in appropriate low concentrations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

To assess the toxicity of epoxiconazole to microorganisms, experimental data for the substance are available.

The key study is a growth inhibition test according to OECD guideline 209 with domestic activated sludge, conducted by BASF AG (1993, report no. 1993/10149). The 30-min EC20 was determined to be > 1014 mg/L (nominal).

Based on the available experimental data, it can be concluded that inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when the substance is introduced in appropriate low concentrations.
