Additional information

The acute toxicity of 2,2-bis(methylthio)propane to Daphnia magna has been investigated through OECD Guideline 202 and according to GLP requirements (Gancet, 2008). The immobility of the Daphnia was determined in a static 48-hour test by visual observation after 24 and 48 hours. The final concentrations of the test substance were not maintained within the designated limit of 80 % of the initial concentrations in test flasks. Therefore the results are based on the measured concentrations in the test vessels. The EC50 -48h based on actual mean concentrations was 2.9 mg/L. All the validity criteria were fulfilled.
