Administrative data

First-aid measures

- Following inhalation:

Move the affected person away from the contaminated area and into the fresh air. If irritation persists, consult a doctor.

- Following skin contact:

Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash off with plenty of water. If case of redness or irritation, call a doctor.

- Following eye contact:

Rinse immediately and thoroughly, pulling the eyelids well away from the eye (15 minutes minimum). Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Contact ophthalmologist immediately.

- Following ingestion:

Do NOT induce vomiting. Get medical advice/attention. If possible show him this sheet. Failing this, show him the packaging or label.

- Most important symptoms and effects:

Causes serious eye damage

Dust of the product, if present, may cause respiratory irritation after an excessive inhalation exposure.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray. Powder. Foam.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

Carbon dioxide (CO2). high volume water jet.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Not classified as flammable by EC criteria but may present a hazard in the event of a fire.

Avoid raising powdered material due to explosion hazard.

Toxic fumes may be released. Carbon oxides (CO, CO2). Nitrogen oxides. Sulphur oxides. Various hydrocarbon fragments.

- Advice for fire fighter:

Contain the extinguishing fluids by bunding.

Cool down the containers exposed to heat with a water spray.

Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus. Complete protective clothing.

Contain the spilled material by bunding (product is hazardous for the environment). Do not discharge into drains or rivers.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Sweep up or vacuum up the product.Wash non-recoverable remainder with large amounts of water. Recover the cleaning water for later disposal.

Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Provide adequate ventilation to minimize dust concentrations. Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe dust.

Do not drink, eat or smoke in the workplace. Always wash hands after handling the product.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Store in a dry, cool place. Keep container tightly closed and dry. Keep away from sources of ignition.
