Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference substance:
5-Brom-2-[(3,4,5-trifluorphenoxy)-difluormethyl]-1,3-difluorbenzene
Name:
5-Brom-2-[(3,4,5-trifluorphenoxy)-difluormethyl]-1,3-difluorbenzene
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: particulate/powder
Reference substance:
5-Brom-2-[(3,4,5-trifluorphenoxy)-difluormethyl]-1,3-difluorbenzene
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence

Based on the available data from biodegradation screening test the substance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. Thus, the test item is potentially P/vP.

Bioaccumulation

Using BCFBAF v3.01 the BCF value of the test item was calculated to be 2678 L/kg and thus considered to be B but not vB. The substance is within the applicability domain of the model.

Toxicity

No effects were observed for fish, invertebrates and algae in experimental studies up to the maximum water solubility (NOEC >/= 100 mg/L nominal). Classification as CMR substance or as STOT RE according to CLP criteria is not warranted based on the available data. Thus, the substance is not T.

Although there is an indication for persistent potential, no efforts were done to further elucidate the persistent properties, since the assessment for bioaccumulation and toxicity criteria showed that the test item is neither a PBT, nor a vPvB substance.
