Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General advice:
Remove from exposure. Remove contaminated clothing.
- Following skin contact:
Wash with water and soap.
- Following eye contact:
Wash with plenty of water.
- Following ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Flush out mouth with water. Get medical aid.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Use standard fire fighting techniques. Use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or foam.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media:
None.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
None.
- Advice for fire fighter: As with all fires, evacuate personnel to safe area. Fire fighters should use self-contained breathing equipment and protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions:
Avoid that the product build up static electricity.
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Make sure all personnel involved in the spill area follow good industrial hygiene practices.
- Environmental precautions:
The substance is not soluble in water. Isolate contaminated area.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Remove substance by special cleaner or absorption material. Separate the product from water.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
The substance is stable under normal conditions. It is advisable to ground mechanical equipment in contact with this material to dissipate the potential building up of static electricity.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep away from boilers: melting point 29 degrees Celcius.
