Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
3 different batches of Preventol ON extra were tested for storage stability for a period of 2 years.
The content of OPP-Na was measured currently after production and after 2 years of storage.
250 g samples were stored for 2 years in the dark at room temperature in polyethylene bags which were inserted in tinplate boxes.
Specification characteristic: ≥ 97,0% 2-hydroxybiphenyl, sodium salt x 4 H2O
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:

Results and discussion

Results:
Stability of container material:
The polyethylene packaging material did not show any damage or change after the storage period.
Furthermore the production unit cerifies that for more than 20 years of packaging Preventol ON extra in 25 kg polyethylen bags the packaging matrial has proofed to be stable to the product for long term storage.
