Additional information

N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylcyclohexylamine] (CAS 3068-78-8) degrades rapidly in water through hydrolysis. The transformation products are N-[3-(trihydroxysilyl)propylcyclohexylamine] and methanol. On the basis of available data, the silanol hydrolysis product N-[3-(trihydroxysilyl)propylcyclohexylamine] is very water soluble and bears a low volatility and adsorption potential. Therefore the main compartment of distribution is expected to be the water column.

The physicochemical parameters and environmental fate of the other hydrolysis product methanol are well known and described in the SIDS initial assessment report for SIAM 19: Methanol (OECD 2004).
