The CMC of the test material was found to be 13.6 mg/L and at 90% of this concentration, i.e., 12.2 mg/L, the surface tension was determined to be 38.5 mN/m.

An analysis of variance test revealed that there is no statistically significant difference (at P = 0.484) of the mean values between pure water and water containing 0.1 – 0.5 mL/L of methanol. It can therefore be assumed that a methanol content within this range has no impact on the surface tension of the test solutions.

Conclusions:
At 90% of the above the estimated solubility limit (i.e. 12.5 mg/L), using the determined surface tension concentration dependence, the surface tension was calculated to be 38.5 mN/m.
Executive summary:

The surface tension of the test material was determined according to OECD Guideline 115. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) was equivalent to 13.6 mg/L. This value was used as an approximation of the water solubility limit. At 90% of the above the estimated solubility limit (i.e. 12.5 mg/L), using the determined surface tension concentration dependence, the surface tension was calculated to be 38.5 mN/m (Lewandowska, 2010).
