Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, LCA08042 showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement of LCA08042 had run out of the sample cube and burnt black test item remnants were observed in the drip bowl.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
No self ignition of the test item up to an oven temperature of 400 °C. LCA08042 therefore is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
Executive summary:

The determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to the EEC Directive 92/69, EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992 and Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.16 “Relative self-ignition temperature for solids”.

During this study, the self-ignition temperature was determined. Therefore, the test item was filled into a cube and heated in an oven. The temperatures of the oven and the sample were continuously recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to approximately 400 °C.

Using a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, LCA08042 showed no relevant exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement of LCA08042 had run out of the sample cube and burnt black test item remnants were observed in the drip bowl.

Taken together, LCA08042 is not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
