First determination:(atmospheric pressure: 953 hPa)

An exothermic peak was observed at 189.5 °C (onset temperature of the first peak) and corresponds to the degradation of the substance.

Initial boiling point under decomposition was observed at 297 °C (onset temperature of the first peak) and a corresponding mass loss was observed on the TG curve, showing that all the substance was evaporated at the end of the study.

The crucible was visually checked after the determination: By opening the crucible, no test item left in the crucible.

Second determination: (atmospheric pressure: 946 hPa)

An exothermic peak was observed at 189.7 °C (onset temperature of the first peak) and corresponds to the degradation of the substance.

Initial boiling point under decomposition was observed at 297 °C (onset temperature of the first peak) and a corresponding mass loss was observed on the TG curve, showing that all the substance was evaporated at the end of the study.

In case of small pressure deviations the boiling temperature at standard pressure can be calculated following the equation of Sidney-Young.

The corrected values following Sidney-Young equation has been determined to be 300.1 °C at 101.3 kPa (mean of 300.0 °C for the first determination and 300.3 °C for the second determination).

 

In addition, an exothermic peak was observed at 189.6°C (mean of 189.5 °C for the first determination and 189.7 °C for the second determination) and corresponds to the degradation of the substance. For this reason, the initial boiling point obtained has to be considered for the degraded substance.

Conclusions:
Initial boiling point under decomposition of test item has been determined to be 300.1 °C at 101.3 kPa (mean of 300.0 °C for the first determination and 300.3 °C for the second determination).
