- Executive summary:
A study was conducted according to Directive 92/69/EEC Method A.5 and OECD Guideline No. 115 to determine the surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item using the ring method. Therefore, a saturated solution at 90 % of the test substance in ultrapure water was prepared. Surface tension was determined at 20 °C. The surface tension of an aqueous solution the test item at 90 % saturation concentration (228.6 mg/L) was found to be 63.1 mN/m. As this value is higher than 60 mN/m, the test item is not classified as surface active substance.
