For organic compounds, the substance does not possess oxidising properties if it does not contain oxygen, fluorine or chlorine. If these atoms are present, then the substance does not possess oxidising properties if the atoms are chemically bonded only to carbon and hydrogen. From an examination of the chemical structure of WS-5, it was confirmed that it does contain oxygen, but only bonded to carbon. Consequently, the test item would not be expected to possess oxidising properties.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
study cannot be used for classification
Conclusions:
From an examination of the chemical structure of the test item, it was confirmed that it does contain oxygen, but only bonded to carbon. Consequently, the test item would not be expected to possess oxidising properties.
Executive summary:

Based on the assessment of the chemical structure of the test item, it was predicted that the test item would not have oxidising properties.
