Details on results:
The partition coefficient (Pow) was determined to be 0.0021 (calculated with extrapolated concentration values) using shake-flask method. The log Pow is -2.74.
The partition coefficient (Pow) and log Pow calculated with the quantification limit of the method (taking into consideration the four-fold sample concentration step) as the concentration of the test item in n-Octanol phase was 0.0036, and the log Pow is -2.46.
The measured concentration of test item in the n-Octanol phases was found to be < LOQ. The partition coefficient (Pow) and log Pow was calculated using the extrapolated test item concentration in the n-Octanol phases. The calculation of partition coefficient (Pow) and log Pow was carried out using the LOQ (taking into consideration the four-fold sample concentration step) as the test item concentration in n-Octanol.

Executive summary:

The partition coefficient of the test item was determined using shake-flask method, in accordante with the method and procedures outlined into the OECD guideline 107. The concentration in the aqueous and octanol phases was determined by HPLC-UV validate method. On the basis of the preliminary assay, the value of the partition coefficient was estimated from the ratio of the solubility of the test item in the pure solvents; since the log Pow value was estimated to be between -2 and 4, the shake-flask method was chosen for the main test.

In the main experiment, three experiments were carried out applying different solvent ratios. In the first experiment, the calculated volume ratio was applied, in the second, this ratio is divided by two and in the third, this ratio is multiplied by two. Test temperature was 20 ± 1 °C. Three parallel tests were carried out.

The measured concentration of test item in the n-Octanol phases was found to be < LOQ, thus, the partition coefficient (Pow) and log Pow were calculated using the extrapolated test item concentration in the n-Octanol phases; the LOQ (taking into consideration the four-fold sample concentration step) was considered as the test item concentration in n-Octanol.

The partition coefficient (Pow) was determined to be 0.0021 (calculated with extrapolated concentration values) using shake-flask method; the log Pow is -2.74. The partition coefficient (Pow) and log Pow calculated with the quantification limit of the method as the concentration of the test item in n-Octanol phase was 0.0036, and the log Pow is -2.46.
