Description of key information

The test is not scientifically justified as Ammonium Perchlorate is inorganic.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

There is a lack of evidence for biological transformation in aerobic environments, and in anaerobic environments, the presence of competing electron acceptors (e.g. chlorate, nitrate) and organic matter can be important controlling factors in perchlorate degradation (from Sellers et al., 2006).
