Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 guidance of REACh Annex IX, testing is not required for substances having low bioaccumulation potential (e. g., log Kow < 3.0). The measured log Kow of this substance is 0.28, providing no bioaccumulative risk.

The bioaccumulation assessment is based on a key study (OASIS Catalogic v.5.11.9.8 baseline model v.02.05) and two supporting studies (US EPA T.E.S.T. v.4.1 and VEGA Meylan v.1.0.2). The key study considered mitigating factors like water solubility, metabolism and molecular size of the substance. It determined the BCF at 3.0 L/kg. The supporting studies, also estimation models, calculated the BCF at 1.8 (Meylan) and 3.0 (T.E.S.T.), respectively. Since the BCF values hardly differ from each other and the substance is in the applicability domain of the models, the calculations are supposed to be reliable.

Based on this approach with three different BCF values (range: 1.8 - 3.0), accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.
