Description of key information

Water solubility of the test item was found to be loading rate dependent (3.97 x 10E-03 g/L TOC for a loading rate of 0.1 g/L and 2.53 x 10E-02 g/L TOC for a loading rate 1 g/L). It was estimated from the results that the majority of the components would be insoluble in water (OECD 105 and EU Method A.6).

GUIDELINE

The determination was carried out using the flask method and a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.6 Water Solubility of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 105 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

METHOD

The test system consisted of purified water. A preliminary test was performed in order to determine the approximate amount of test item to be used in the definitive test.

RESULTS

Water solubility expressed as total organic carbon (TOC) was determined to be 3.97 x 10E-03 g/L (loading rate 0.1 g/L) and 2.53 x 10E-02 g/L (loading rate 1 g/L).

CONCLUSION

Water solubility of the test item was found to be loading rate dependent. It was estimated from the results that the majority of the components would be insoluble in water.
