Description of key information

Boiling point [hexachlorodisilane]: 146°C at 1 bar

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
146 °C

Additional information

A boiling point of 144°C at 980 mbar was determined in a reliable study conducted according to generally accepted scientific principles. This is in good agreement with a boiling point value of 146°C at 1 bar reported in the CRC Handbook, 91st Edition (Haynes 2010) which has been subject to peer-review and in which the original data sources are traceable. The results are considered to be reliable.

In available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, boiling point ranges of 144-147°C and 144-145°C were reported for hexachlorodisilane.
