Sampling and analysis
- Analytical monitoring:
- yes
- Details on sampling:
- During this study samples of the test substance concentrations of nominal 6.25; 25; 100 mg/L M4 medium and the control (M4 medium) were taken after 0 h, 24 h and 48 h. Analytical determination showed no loss of test substance during the exposure period of 48 h. Recovery of test substance was between 104% and 118% of nominal test concentration.
Test solutions
- Vehicle:
- no
- Details on test solutions:
- The test concentrations were prepared by diluting a stock solution of 1 g/L. 200 mg test substance was weighed into a beaker, mixed with M4 medium and was stirred for 5 min. with a magnetic stirrer to dissolve the test substance in the test medium. Then the test substance preparation was filled into a graduated flask and made up to a total volume of 200 mL with M4 medium. The amounts corresponding to the test concentrations were pipetted into a graduated flask, made up to a total volume of 500 mL with M4 medium, and then transferred to the test vessels.
Test organisms
- Test organisms (species):
- Daphnia magna
- Details on test organisms:
- Test organisms were <24 hours old and bred at the testing facility. The daphnids were kept in M4 medium in a 16:8 hours light-dark cycle at a temperature of 20 +/- 2°C and were fed with singular algae.
