Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information In all the cases : Immediate medical attention is required.
- Inhalation : Assure fresh air breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. In case of respiratory arrest, administer artificial respiration.
- Skin contact : Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and water.
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min.
- Ingestion : If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: In case of starting fire, use of foam or CO2. For more important fires, apply some water as fast as possible. Use big quantities
of water in the form of mist or pulverizing; jets sticks are ineffectives. Flood containers concerned with big quantities of water.
Advice for fire-fighters: If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Eliminate every possible source of ignition. Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in section 8. Avoid inhaling vapors, fogs of pulverizing or gases. Ensure adequate ventilation. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.
Environmental precautions: Do not flush down sewers.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Prevent from entering sewers, basements and workpits, or any place where its accumulation can be dangerous.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling : Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities : Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area. Store in tightly closed containers. Carefully close all opened container and kept upright to prevent leakage.
This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Control parameters :
Personal protection
Respiratory protection : When risk assessment shows that the breathing apparatus uilisationdes is appropriate, use a full face mask with versatile cartridge (U.S.) or type ABEK (EN 14387). If the mask is the only protection using a self-contained breathing apparatus with full face shield. Use of equipment and components tested and approved by NIOSH and CEN (EU).
Skin protection : Impervious clothing. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.
Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).
Hand protection : Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 /EEC and in the standard IN 374 which derives from it.
Industrial hygiene : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
