First-aid measures

General advice  :  Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately

After inhalation :  Ensure supply of fresh air. Summon a doctor immediately.

After contact with skin :  In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists.

After contact with eyes  :  In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice

After ingestion :  Summon a doctor immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media :  foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder.

Unsuitable extinguishing media :  water

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture :  In the event of fire the following can be released: - Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, silicon dioxide

Advice for fire-fighters :  Use self-contained breathing apparatus and wear full protective suit.

Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases

Accidental release measures

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up :  Take up with absorbent material (eg sand, kieselguhr, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations.

Handling

Advice on safe handling :  Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary).

General protective measures :  Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases/vapours/aerosols.

Hygiene measures :  Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. At work do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs. Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Use barrier skin cream.

Storage

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:  Keep away from sources of ignition - no smoking. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading. Cool endangered containers by water spray.

Advice on common storage:  Do not store with acids or alkalies. Do not store together with oxidizing agents.

Further information:  Protect from atmospheric moisture and water. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place; open and handle with care.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:  In case of formation of vapours/aerosols: Short term: filter apparatus, combination filter A-P2.

Hand protection:  Rubber gloves, gloves made of chloroprene (CR, e.g. Neoprene).

Eye protection:  tightly fitting safety glasses.

Skin and body protection:  use a protective ointment. light protective clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: The product is stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:  Reactions with acids, alkalies and oxidizing agents. Reactions with water.

Hazardous decomposition products :  None with proper storage and handling.

Disposal considerations

Substance: In accordance with local authority regulations, take to special waste incineration plant

Contaminated packaging:  If empty contaminated containers are recycled or disposed of, the receiver must be informed about possible hazards.
