Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation
Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim inhaled the substance.
Induce artificial respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell.
Skin contact
Rinse skin with water/shower. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Eye contact
Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Ingestion
IF SWALLOWED: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell. Rinse mouth.
Most important
symptoms/effects, acute and delayed
Coughing. Headache. Nausea or vomiting. Drowsiness. Irritation of eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment of overdose should be symptomatic and supportive and may include the following:
1. DO NOT induce vomiting.
2. Dilute immediately with 4 - 8 ounces of milk or water.
3.Consider gastric lavage if it can be performed soon after ingestion, unless contraindicated.
Control seizures prior to initiation and protect airway.
4. Administer activated charcoal as a slurry.
5. For acute lung injury, ventilate and oxygenate, with frequent monitoring.
6. Observe for development of esophageal or gastrointestinal irritation or burns
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
Water fog. Foam. Dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Unsuitable extinguishing media
Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.
Specific hazards arising from the chemical
By heating and fire, harmful vapors/gases may be formed. No unusual fire or explosion hazards noted.

Wear suitable protective equipment. Use protective equipment appropriate for surrounding materials.

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
ELIMINATE all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area). Keep unnecessary personnel away. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of vapors.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Remove sources of ignition. Absorb spillage with suitable absorbent material.
Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination. Keep combustibles (wood, paper, oil, etc.) away from spilled material.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
As a general rule, when handling USP Reference Standards, avoid all contact and inhalation of dust, mists, and/or vapors associated with the material. Clean equipment and work surfaces with suitable detergent or solvent after use. After removing gloves, wash hands and other exposed skin thoroughly.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store in tight container as defined in the USP-NF. This material should be handled and stored per label instructions to ensure product integrity.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and
at the end of workday. Technical measures and appropriate working operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment.
Personal protective equipment
Eye/face protection
Face shield and safety glasses Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under
appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).
Skin protection
Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique
(without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of
contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices.
Wash and dry hands.
The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and
the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Break through time: > 120 min
If used in solution, or mixed with other substances, and under conditions which differ from EN 374,
contact the supplier of the CE approved gloves. This recommendation is advisory only and must
be evaluated by an industrial hygienist and safety officer familiar with the specific situation of
anticipated use by our customers. It should not be construed as offering an approval for any
specific use scenario.
Body Protection
Complete suit protecting against chemicals, Flame retardant antistatic protective clothing., The
type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the
dangerous substance at the specific workplace.
Respiratory protection
Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face respirator
with multi-purpose combination (US) or type AXBEK (EN 14387) respirator cartridges as a backup
to engineering controls. If the respirator is the sole means of protection, use a full-face supplied air
respirator. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government
standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).
Control of environmental exposure
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Risk of explosion.

Disposal considerations
Product
Burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber but exert extra care in igniting
as this material is highly flammable. Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company.
Contaminated packaging
Dispose of as unused product.
