Conclusion on classification

Degradation

Biodegradation: Readily biodegradable: 83.4% (O2 consumption) after 14 d (OECD 301 C)

Bioaccumulation

Log Kow: 4.78 (OECD 117)

Aquatic acute toxicity

Aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna): EC50 (48 h) 1.97 mg/L (measured)

Aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): ErC50 (72 h) = 1.12 mg/L (measured)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

Aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): ErC10 (72 h) = 0.442 mg/L (measured

Classification according to CLP

Based on the data above, the test substance is considered to be readily biodegradable. Acute aquatic toxicity was observed for algae and aquatic invertebrates with EC50 values above 1 mg/L. Valid chronic data are available with an ErC10 (72 h) = 0.442 mg/L for the freshwater algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. Thus, the test substance needs to be classified and labelled as chronic aquatic hazard category 2 according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and all further amendements (ATPs).
