The boiling point of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 103, EU Method A.2 and EPA OPPTS 830.7220 under GLP conditions using differential scanning calorimetry. The study was awarded a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the principles for assessing data quality set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The DSC technique records the difference in heat flow of two crucibles, one filled with test material and the other left empty as reference, while these crucibles are subjected to a controlled temperature programme. The boiling temperature of the test material is evaluated from the DSC curve as the extrapolated onset temperature of the endothermic boiling peak.

From an initial temperature of 25 °C, the samples were cooled at a rate of -5 °C/minute to -90 °C to determine the melting temperature. From -90 °C, the samples were then heated at a rate of 20 °C/minute to 400 °C. The experiments were performed under a flow of nitrogen and at atmospheric pressure.

Under the conditions of this study, reaction and/or decomposition was observed during DSC experiments at temperatures of > 175 °C (> 448 K). Boiling was not observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition started. Based on this, the test material has no boiling temperature.
