First-aid measures
Inhalation: Over-exposure by inhalation may cause respiratory irritation. (coughing)
Ingestion: There is no known acute effect after over-exposure to this product.
Skin contact:: Slightly irritating to the skin. (redness).May cause sensitisation by skin contact. May cause allergic skin reactions with repeated exposure. Skin inflammation is characterised by itching, scaling, reddening or, occasionally, blistering.
Eye contact: May cause eye irritation. (redness).
FIRST-AIR MEASURE:
General: Protection of first-aiders: Put on appropriate personal protective equipment. Move
exposed person to fresh air. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. Obtain medical attention if symptoms occur.
Ingestion: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Obtain medical attention if symptoms occur.
Skin contact: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse with plenty of running water. Get medical attention.
Eye contact: Rinse with plenty of running water. Obtain medical attention if symptoms occur.
First aid facilities: Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable: Not flammable. Use extinguishing media suitable for surrounding materials.
HAZARDOUS THERMAL DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
In case of fire, may produce hazardous decomposition products such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2), ammonia (NH3), amines, potassium oxide.
PROTECTION OF FIRE-FIGHTERS:
Wear suitable protective clothing. Self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Avoid creating dusty conditions and prevent wind dispersal. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Self-contained breathing apparatus. Use suitable protective equipment. Consult expert immediately.
SMALL SPILL AND LEAK:
Vacuum or sweep up material and place in a designated labeled waste container. Clean up affected area with a large amount of water.
LARGE SPILL AND LEAK:
Prevent entry into sewers, basements or confined areas. Dyke if necessary. Vacuum or sweep up material and place in a designated labeled waste container. Recycle, if possible. Prevent formation of dust clouds.
Handling and storage
Preferably use in closed systems. Use with adequate ventilation. Use suitable protective equipment. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid creating dusty conditions and prevent wind dispersal.
STORAGE:
Hygroscopic. Keep container tightly closed.
PACKAGING MATERIALS SUITABLE:
Polyethylene.
