Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study was conducted to determine the toxicity of the test substance to microorganisms using activated sludge respiration inhibition test according to OECD Guideline 209 and EU Method C.11, in compliance with GLP. The study was conducted under static conditions using freshwater media. Test organisms were exposed to the test substance at loading rates of 0, 10, 100 and 1,000 mg /L. The total exposure period was 3 h and the oxygen consumption was recorded for a period of approximately 10 minutes post exposure. 3,5-dichlorophenol was used as positive control. No inhibition of the respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at any of the loading rates. The EC50of 3,5-dichlorophenol was in the accepted range of 2 to 25 mg/L for total respiration (7.8 mg/L). Under the study conditions, the test substance was not toxic to waste water bacteria (activated sludge) at a loading rate of 1,000 mg/L (NOEL). The EL50was therefore above 1,000 mg/L (Soeter M, 2015).
