Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From February 19, 2008 to May 14, 2008
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
yes
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

In contact with the flame of the gas burner, the test substance glowed, emitted orange sparks, turned into a grey/black charred residue and grey fumes were observed. After removal of the ignition source, glowing of the test substance stopped after 10 seconds and no propagate combustion was found.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
According to EC A.10 test method, Everzol Red CDN Crude is not classified as flammable solids. Therefore, Everzol Red CDN Crude was not met GHS criteria.
Executive summary:

This test using the procedures outlined in the NOTOX Study Plan for 487467 and EC A.10 test method. In preliminary screening test, the test result showed thatEverzol Red CDN Crude does not ignite and propagate combustion over 200 mm within 4 minutes. Therefore, Everzol Red CDN Crude is not classified as flammable solids.

Description of key information

Everzol Red CDN Crude is not classified as flammable solids (EC A.10).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

In preliminary screening test, the test result showed that Everzol Red CDN Crude does not ignite and propagate combustion over 200 mm within 4 minutes. Therefore, Everzol Red CDN Crude is not classified as flammable solids.
