Description of key information

According to the guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7A section 7.1.14. Information on particle size distribution is to be used for decision making purposes on inhalation testing and should performed using the OECD method 110. The OECD method for particle size distribution is only applicable to water insoluble powders. The solubility of STPP is 14.5g/100mL, therefore these test methods are not applicable. An inhalation toxicity test is available for STPP and no useful information will be provided by this endpoint.

Additional information

The particle size of STPP is not a fixed value as it is set by the customer requirements and manufactured accordingly, company specific information on particle size is included in the IUCLID dossier
