Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
INHALATION:
Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
SKIN CONTACT:
If skin irritation persists, call a physician. Wash with water and soap as a precaution.
EYE CONTACT:
Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
INGESTION:
Immediately give large quantities of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Water spray, Dry powder, Foam
SPECIFIC HAZARDS DURING FIRE FIGHTING:
Heating or fire can release toxic gas.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS:
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.
FURTHER INFORMATION:
Use water spray to cool unopened containers.
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:
Use personal protective equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:
Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP:
Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal.
Handling and storage
HANDLING:
- Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation.
- Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Avoid dust formation. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
STORAGE:
- Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed. To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight. Keep in a dry, cool and well ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
1. Respiratory protection:
In the case of dust or aerosol formation use respirator with an approved filter. Half mask with a particle filter P2 (EN 143).
2. Hand protection:
Suitable material = Nitrile rubber (Break through time : > 480 min). Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact)).
3. Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields
4. Skin and body protection:
Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. No special protective equipment required.
5. Hygiene measures:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS:
General advice : Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Stability and reactivity
CONDITIONS TO AVOID:
No data available. Dust explosion determined by test: N
MATERIALS TO AVOID:
Strong acids and oxidizing agents.
HAZARDOUS REACTIONS:
Stable under normal conditions.
CHEMICAL REACTION WITH WATER:
The substance does not react with water.
Disposal considerations
POSSIBILITY OF RECOVERY/RECYCLING - INDUSTRY:
Once introduced into the chemical process, recovery of the
substance is not possible as it is completely consumed.
Spilled material may be reprocessed if not contaminated.
POSSIBILITY OF NEUTRALISATION - INDUSTRY:
Neutralisation of the substance is not necessary as it has
no known unfavourable effects on man or the environment.
POSSIBILITY OF DESTRUCTION - INDUSTRY:
1. Controlled discharge:
Do not discharge at a local land tip.
2. Incineration:
Dissolve in a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical
incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber (A661)
.
Water purification: In view of its low water solubility the substance may be
recovered from water by filtration.
POSSIBILITY OF DESTRUCTION - PUBLIC AT LARGE:
The substance is used solely as a chemical intermediate and
as a result it will not enter the public domain.
