The relevant PBT (persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic) criteria according to the REACH regulation and the corresponding properties of Benzyl acetate are compiled in the following Table:

Likely routes of exposure:

The primary routes of potential exposure to Benzyl Acetate are the dermal and inhalation routes. Indirect exposure of humans via the environment is expected to be negligible. Removal in the STP is expected to be very efficient and so secondary exposure of the other receiving compartments is expected to be minimal. Similarly contamination of food crops or animals used as human food sources is not envisaged.
