Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A non-GLP study was conducted equivalent or similar to with the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals. 109: "Density of Iiquids and solids". The density was measured by an oscillating densitometer. The study determined the density of 2 -ethylhexanoic acid to be 0.907g/cm3 at 20 °C (2009). Two other non-GLP studies determined the density to be 0.9023 g/cm3 (1984) and 0.908 g/cm3 at 20 °C (1990). The CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics reported the density to be 0.9031 g/cm3 at 25 °C.

The values are all in the same range. The value fron the recent study was chosen as key value for the density.
