First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical
attention if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Seek medical attention
if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry powder, foam may be used.
Water should not be used due to the high water solubility of
the substance.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear suitable
protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Absorb spillages of
solutions with a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil).
Carefully transfer the spillage to labelled waste
containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.
Dispose of waste material by landfill or incineration in
accordance with local regulations. Clean the spillage area
with water and detergent. Do not discharge to drain.
Handling and storage
Handling: The substance should be handled and used in conditions of
good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local
regulations in order to avoid exposure. Ensure adequate
ventilation.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;
Chemical protective gloves to Standard prEN374
Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368
Eye protection to Standard prEN166.
Respiratory protection e.g.an organic vapour mask
conforming to EN405 FFA1.
Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a dry well-ventilated
area, away from sources of ignition.

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
flammability hazard.
Formation of explosive peroxides upon contact with air is
prevented by the addition of a stabiliser.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages mixed with inert
material (eg sand or soil) may be disposed of by landfill at
an authorised tip in accordance with local regulations.

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations (A660).
