Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Move injured person into fresh air and keep person calm and under observation.
In case of persistent throat irritation or coughing. Seek medical attention, and provide the MSDS for review by medical professionals.
If considered necessary, take the affected person to hospital and bring along these instructions.
Unconscious persons must be kept on their side, head low to keep airways clear and kept warm.
Skin contact:
Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash skin with soap and water. Flush with water immediately.
In case of extreme reaction, continue flushing during transport to hospital.
In case of eczema or other skin disorders. Seek medical attention and provide the MSDS for review by medical professionals.
Eye contact:
Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids widely.
If irritation persists, continue flushing during transport to hospital. Provide the MSDS for review by medical professionals.
Ingestion:
Immediately rinse mouth and drink plenty of water or milk. Keep person under observation.
Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, keep head low to maintain airways. Immediate transport to hospital. Provide the MSDS for review by medical professionals.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:
Small Fires: Extinguish with foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder extinguishers. Do not use water.
Large Fires: Extinguish with foam. Use of water is not recommended.
If possible, remove containers exposed to heat or cool with water.
Degradation products :
By heating and fire, harmful vapors (CO, CO2, oxides of silicon) may be formed.
Firefighting measures: Use of an air-supplied respirator during fighting of large fires is recommended (e.g. stockpile).
Accidental release measures
The following PPE and RPE is recommended to effect clean up of spillage:
Respiratory equipment: In case of inadequate ventilation use suitable respirator.
Protective clothing: Wear protective gloves. Polyvinylalcohol gloves are recommended.
Wear goggles/face shield.
Wear apron or protective clothing.
Avoid release to the environment.
Dam and absorb spillages with sand, earth or other non-combustible material. Remove such materials to bagged / drummed storage for subsequent disposal as contaminated waste. Such wastes should be disposed of in accordance with local and national legislation by a licensed waste contractor.
Following completion of clean up, remove contaminated clothing and wash the skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Handling and storage
Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes.
Avoid smoking and use of open fire.
Mechanical ventilation may be required.
Follow rules for flammable liquids.
Storage conditions:
Store in tightly closed original container in a cool and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.
Do not store near heat sources or expose to high temperatures.

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Based on the currently available data, the substance does not require classification under the various transportation schemes. In addition, as the substance is only transported within the EU as a component of a polymer, labelling is deemed more appropriate to be applied to the polymer. In either event, there is no classification for transportation associated with the substance.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Occupational hygiene measures: There are currently no Occupational Exposure Limits assigned to the substance. Good industrial hygiene measures are recommended to reduce any potential for exposure.
Respiratory equipment: In case of inadequate ventilation use suitable respirator.
Protective clothing:
Wear protective gloves. Polyvinylalcohol gloves are recommended.
Wear goggles/face shield.
Wear apron or protective clothing.
Hygiene measures:
Remove contaminated clothing and wash the skin thoroughly with soap and water after work with the substance has been completed.
Stability and reactivity
The product may polymerise with under high temperature conditions.
Keep away from the following materials to prevent strong exothemic reaction:
Oxidizing agents, strong alkalis and strong acids.
By heating and fire, harmful vapours (CO, CO2, oxides of Silicon ) may be formed.
Disposal considerations
