Description of key information

The two calculated partition coefficients (in the range of -0.78 to 1.27), the negative values indicate that the substance has a greater affinity for the water phase, and, hence, is more hydrophilic.

The partition coefficient of methanesulphonyl chloride was calculated using the Estimation Programs Interface (EPI) SuiteTM United States Environmental Protection Agency MPBPVP Program (v1.43), and the Perform Automated Reasoning in Chemistry SPARC both considered of Klimisch-2 reliability. The predicted values for log Pow of methanesulphonyl chloride are 1.27 (no information on pH or temperature was reported) and -0.78 at 25°C and 1 atm (no information on pH was reported), based on EPI Suite and Sparc calculations, respectively.
