Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash out eyes thoroughly with plenty of water for fifteen
minutes. If necessary, seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash contaminated skin with soap and large
quantities of water for fifteen minutes. If necessary, seek
medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water and if
necessary seek medical advice.

Accidental release measures
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards, as
mentioned in section 2.3.10.
Avoid dust formation. Absorb spillages of solutions with a
suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil).
Carefully transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use
a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with
waste material must be labelled in the same way as the
original substance containers.
Clean the spillage area with plenty of soap and water.
Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations.
Handling and storage
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;

Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling
exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the
appropriate international or national standards, such as a
respiratory protection conforming to EN136.
These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Chemical reaction with water: None which is hazardous.
Dust explosion: Material exhibits explosion characteristics if ignited as a
dust cloud. Material is very susceptible to accumulating
static charges during processing and uncontrolled static
discharge may result in igniting a dust cloud under certain
conditions due to low minimum ignition energy. Provide
suitable bonding and grounding for containers and process
equipment to control static charge. Powder handling
equipment such as dust collectors, dryers, and mills may
require additional protective measures (e.g. explosive
venting). Nitrogen blanketing is required.

Disposal considerations
from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration. In principle,
it may be possible to recover larger spillages of
uncontaminated material by a recrystallisation process, for
subsequent use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The dust hazard will be minimised by bonding and grounding
as required to control static charges. Powder handling
equipment such as dust collectors, dryers and mills will
have additional protective measures in place as required,
such as explosion venting.
There is no possibility of neutralisation.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed
with inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
incinceration in accordance with local regulations.

A closed-cycle incinerator with scrubbers should be
employed. National and local regulations must be observed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Biological oxidation occurs at the waste water treatment

secondary biological WWTP before discharge to municipal
treatment works. The substance should not normally be
discharged directly to the sewage system or the aqueous
environment. However, adverse effects on sewage treatment
systems would be unlikely.
