First-aid measures
Product-Specific hazards:
Risk of serious damage to the lungs if swallowed (by subsequent aspiration) or inhaled.
General advice: Move out of dangerous area. Show this material safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance. Do not leave the victim unattended. Material may produce a serious, potentially fatal pneumonia if swallowed or vomited.
If inhaled: Move to fresh air. If unconcious place in recovery position and seek medical advice. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of eye contact: Flush eyes with water as a precaution. Remove contact lenses. Keep eye wide open while rinsing.Protect unharmed eye. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
If swallowed: keep respiratory tract clear. Do not induce vomiting. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Fire-fighting measures
Flash Point: 186 deg C.
Suitable extinguishing media :
LARGE FIRE: Use water spray, water fog or foam. DO NOT use direct water jet.
SMALL FIRE: Dry powder or carbon dioxide (CO2) extinguisher, dry sand or fire fighting foam.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media :
(Do not use) Direct water jet.
Simultaneous use of foam and water on the same surface is to be avoided as water destroys the foam.
Combustion Products :
Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons (smoke).
Specific hazards during fire fighting :
Containers may explode under fire conditions - use water spray to cool unopened containers.
Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses – may cause explosion hazard in drains and may reignite on surface water.

Wear an approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus in addition to standard fire fighting gear.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silical gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling: Do not breathe vapors/dust.
Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited.
Avoid all sources of ignition.
Avoid contact with heat, ignition sources and oxidizing agents.
Use only in well ventilated areas.
Containers should be opened only under exhaust ventilation hood.
Use proper bonding and/or grounding procedures.
This material is a static accumulator: Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Do not allow splash filling of bulk volumes.
Do not use compressed air for filling, discharging or handling.
Do not pressurise, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, or grind on containers.
The vapour is heavier than air, beware of accumulation in pits and confined spaces.
Cleaning, inspection and maintenance of the internal structure of storage tanks must be done
only by properly equipped and qualified personnel as defined by national, local or company regulation.
Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.
Storage :

Store in either mild steel or stainless steel containers or vessels.
Store in a designated cool and well-ventilated place.
Store in the original, tightly closed, container.
Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
Keep container tightly closed and properly labelled.
Storage installations should be designed with adequate bunds so as to prevent ground and water pollution in case of leaks or spills.
Fixed storage containers, transfer containers and associated equipment should be earthed and bonded to prevent accumulation of static charge.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Respiratory protection:
Wear a supplied-air NIOSH approved respirator unless ventilation or other engineering controls are adequate to maintain minimal oxygen content of 19.5%by volume under normal atmospheric pressure. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator that provides protection when working with this material if exposure to harmful levels of airbone material may occur, such as: Air-Purifying Respirator for Organic Vapors. Use a positive pressure, air-supplying respirator if there is potential for uncontrolled release, exposure levels are not known, or other circumstances where air-purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection.
Hand protection:
The suitability for a specific workplace should be discussed with the producers of the protective gloves. Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.
Eye Protection:
Safety glasses. Eye wash bottle with pure water.
Skin and body protection:
Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangeroous substance at the work place. Wear as appropriate: Protective suit and safety shoes.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability: This material is considered stable under normal ambient and anticipated storage and handling conditions of temperature and pressure.
