Additional information

Two adsorption studies for the assessement of the adsorption potential of the substances belonging to the stilbene fluorescent whitening agents category are available. Both studies demonstrate that the substances belonging to this category possess a high adsorption potential which indicates that the tested substances bind to soils and sediments.

CAS 16090-02-1:

In a study conducted according to OECD guideline 106 the log Koc determined for three different soils was in the range of 2.93 to 3.35 (CIBA-GEIGY 1993). A log Koc of that range indicates that the tested substance binds to soils and sediments.

CAS 16470-24-9:

The log Koc was determined to be 4.0 (CIBA-GEIGY 1993). A log Koc of that value indicates that the tested substance is likely to bind to soils and sediments.
