First-aid measures
4.1 Description of first aid measures
General information
. Personal protection for the First Aider.
. Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.
. In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration.
After inhalation
. Supply fresh air or oxygen; call for doctor.
. In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.
. Call a doctor immediately.
After skin contact
. Wash with polyethylene glycol and ethanol (2:1). Then wash thoroughly with water and soap.
. Seek medical treatment.
After eye contact
. Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.
. Seek medical treatment.
After swallowing
Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water.
Do not induce vomiting; instantly call for medical help.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed No further relevant information available.
Information for doctor
. Therapeutically measures: basic help, decontamination, symptomatic treatment.
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
. No further relevant information available.
Fire-fighting measures
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing agents
. CO2, extinguishing powder or water jet. Fight larger fires with water jet or alcohol-resistant foam.
For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents
. Water with a full water jet.
5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
. Can be released in case of fire
. Carbon monoxide (CO)
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Protective equipment:
. Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases.
. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
. Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
6.2 Environmental precautions:
. Do not allow product to reach sewage system or water bodies.
6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
. Ensure adequate ventilation.
. Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders).
. Send for recovery or disposal in suitable containers.
. Dispose of contaminated material as waste according to item in the section "Disposal considerations".
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported
isolated intermediates. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering,
administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk -based management systems is available at each
Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor or
Manufacturer / Downstream User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
7.1 Precautions for safe handling
. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
. Precautions against electrostatic charging.
. Prevent formation of aerosols.
. Keep PEG 300 / Ethanol or PEG 400 solution ready
Information about protection against explosions and fires:
. Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements to be met by storerooms and containers:

Exposure controls
Personal protective equipment
General protective and hygienic measures
. The usual precautionary measures should be adhered to general rules for handling chemicals.
. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing
. Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food.
. Be sure to clean skin thoroughly after work and before breaks.
. Store protective clothing separately.
. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Breathing equipment:
. In case of brief exposure or low pollution use breathing filter apparatus. In case of intensive or longer exposure use breathing apparatus that is independent of circulating air.
. Filter ABEK
Protection of hands:
. Only use chemical-protective gloves with CE-labelling of category III (EN 374).
Material of gloves
. The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Penetration time of glove material
. The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
For the permanent contact in work areas without heightened risk of injury (e.g. Laboratory) gloves made of the following material are suitable:
. Nitril rubber, NBR
. Butyl rubber, BR
As protection from splashes gloves made of the following materials are suitable:
. Nitril rubber, NBR
Eye protection:
. Tightly sealed safety glasses.
. Gauze goggles
Body protection:
. Impervious protective clothing
