Description of key information

As the Reaction mass of cyclododecanol and cyclododecanone was neither shock sensitive nor thermally or friction sensitive, according to the criteria of the EC test method A.14 it is not representing an explosive hazard and has not to be considered to present a danger of explosion. It is concluded that this applies to pure cyclododecanol as well.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Additional evidence comes from the fact that there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. Therefore a test would not be required according to REACH Annex VII, 7.11, column 2.
