Additional information

Since the test substance rapidly hydrolyses in water, it is relevant to consider the aquatic toxicity of the “degradates” formed (i.e. potassium sulphate and sulphuric acid). At environmentally relevant pHs, sulphuric acid will ionise to form its respective sulphate ion. In water potassium sulphate will dissociate to form potassium and sulphate ions. The potassium sulphate study was selected since the relevant species of concern is the potassium cation.
