Constituent 1
Chemical structure
Reference substance name:
Dimethyl 2-aminoterephthalate
EC Number:
226-364-2
EC Name:
Dimethyl 2-aminoterephthalate
Cas Number:
5372-81-6
Molecular formula:
C10H11NO4
IUPAC Name:
1,4-dimethyl 2-aminobenzene-1,4-dicarboxylate
Constituent 2
Reference substance name:
dimethyl-2-aminoterephthalate
IUPAC Name:
dimethyl-2-aminoterephthalate
Details on test material:
purity: > 99.9 % (m/m)
no stock solution was prepared. Due to the low solubility of the material the test item was directly weight into the testing tubes.

Study design

Oxygen conditions:
aerobic
Inoculum or test system:
activated sludge, non-adapted
Details on inoculum:
- source of inoculum: municipal treatment plant Frankfurt-Sindlingen, Germany
- Preparation of inoculum for exposure: The activated sludge was centrifuged, sediment of activated sludge was washed, centrifuged and resuspended. The sludge was 7 days pre-ventilated to get rid of all C.
- Initial cell/bimass concentration: 10 ml/l activated suldge suspension with 16 g/l of centrifuged sediment. The dry mass of the suspension was 1,9 g/l.

Results and discussion

% Degradation
Parameter:
% degradation (O2 consumption)
Value:
< 20
Sampling time:
28 d
Details on results:
The mean value of 4 tests in parallel was below 20 %. Therefore no graphic was produced.
The depletion of the reference substance showed an O2-reduction of > 60% witin 10 days. The O2-consumption of blind controls was < 60 mg/l (O2).
There was no significant biological degradation of the test item shown. The O2-consumtopn witin th test period of 28 d was below 20 % of theoretical maxium.

BOD5 / COD results
