Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General information
Personal protection is needed for the First Aider.
Call a doctor immediately.
Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident.
- After inhalation
Take affected persons into the open air and position comfortably.
Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist.
In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.
- After skin contact
Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
Seek medical treatment.
- After eye contact Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult doctor.
- After swallowing
Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water.
Inform doctor. Do not give milk or fatty oils.
Rinse mouth thoroughly with water and give large amounts of milk or water to people not unconscious
- Information for doctor
- The following symptoms may occur:
Cramp
Sickness
- Treatment Sympthomatically (decontamination, vital function), no specific antidote known.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing agents
CO2, extinguishing powder or water jet. Fight larger fires with water jet or alcohol-resistant foam.
- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or flue gases:
Can be released in case of fire:
Lead
- Protective equipment:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Wear full protective suit.
- Additional information:
Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter drains.
Accidental release measures
- Person-related safety precautions:
Use breathing protection against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.
Avoid causing dust.
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
- Measures for environmental protection:
Do not allow to enter drainage system, surface or ground water.
Inform respective authorities in case product reaches water or sewage system.
- Measures for cleaning/collecting:
Collect mechanically.
Dispose of the material collected according to regulations.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Handling and storage
- Handling
- Information for safe handling:
Restrict the quantity stored in the work place.
Any deposit of dust which cannot be avoided must be removed regularly.
Thorough dedusting.
Keep containers tightly sealed.
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Open and handle container with care.
- Information about protection against explosions and fires: Keep breathing equipment ready.
- Storage
- Requirements to be met by storerooms and containers: Store only in the original container.
- Information about storage in one common storage facility:
Store away from foodstuffs.
Store away from oxidizing agents.
Store away from flammable substances.
Store away from reducing agents.
- Further information about storage conditions:
Store container in a well ventilated position.
Keep container tightly sealed.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Additional information about design of technical systems: No further data; see section Handling and storage section.
- Components with critical values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.
- Additional information: The lists that were valid during the compilation were used as basis.
- Personal protective equipment
- General protective and hygienic measures
Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food.
Instantly remove any soiled and impregnated garments.
Wash hands during breaks and at the end of the work.
Store protective clothing separately.
- Breathing equipment:
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use breathing filter apparatus. In case of intensive or longer exposure use breathing apparatus that is independent of circulating air.
- Protection of hands:
Avoid direct contact with the chemical/ the product/ the preparation by organizational measures.
The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation
- Material of gloves
Nitrile rubber, NBR
Butyl rubber, BR
PVC gloves
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- Penetration time of glove material
The exact break-through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
- Eye protection: Tightly sealed safety glasses.
- Body protection: Protective work clothing.
Stability and reactivity
- Conditions to be avoided: To avoid thermal decomposition do not overheat.
- Dangerous products of decomposition: Leadoxide vapour
- Additional information:
Product is stable till 780° C and react very little with other chemical products. Reactivity - 0.
Disposal considerations
- Product:
- Recommendation
Must not be disposed of together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.
Must be specially treated under adherence to official regulations.
- Uncleaned packagings:
- Recommendation:
Packagings that cannot be cleaned are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
