Reference substance:
JPB 01 Salt
Reference substance:
JPB 01 Salt
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT assessment is currently pending waiting for results of the screening for biodegradability (OECD 301B) in order to assess wether the substance is persistent or not. Furthermore, toxicity studies such as 90 day study, screening for reproduction and development are still ongoing therefore the full PBT assessment will be carried out as soon as all results are available.

The substance is characterized by aromatic sulphonic salts that are soluble in water and are neither sorptive, nor volatile, nor bioaccumulative. They completely ionise in water even at low pH. The salts of these acids are the hydrotropes. These substances are neither hydrolysable nor photolysable. In summary, the aromatic sulphonic acids are expected to be not persistent and they and their salt forms should partition primarily to the water compartment

Likely routes of exposure:

The preferred compartment is water
