Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Thoroughly wash all affected areas with soap and water
removing contaminated clothing. If irritation occurs obtain
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder may be used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with some soot.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a self contained breathing apparatus
should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Take up spill
using a suitable inert material (e.g. sand or soil).
Transfer to labelled containers or use an industrial vacuum
cleaner. Dispose of by incineration in accordance with local
regulations. Wash spill site with plenty of water. Do not
discharge the spillage to the drains.
Handling and storage
Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear suitable protective
clothing, rubber or plastic gloves, safety goggles and a
respirator conformingto the appropriate national standards.
Avoid exposure by skin and eye contact, ingestion and
inhalation.
Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place.
Store away from sources of ignition.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is packaged in clearly labelled double
polyethylene lined fibreboard containers.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None reported.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.
Dust explosion: There is a potential for dust explosion of this organic
powder when it becomes airbourne. However, appropriate
handling and storage procedures are used to minimise the
risk of electrostatic discharge.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen should be fitted.
(A661)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
