EC number: 436-710-6 | CAS number: 756-13-8
Key result for CAS # 756-13-8:Density: 1.61 at 20°C relative to water at 4°C (pycnometer method, OECD TG109 and EEC-Directive 92/69 EEC, Part A.3)Key result for PFPA (degradation product), CAS# 422-64-0:Relative density: 1.561 at 20 °C (handbook data)
Discussion for CAS# 756 -13 -8:
Density of CAS# 756-13-8 was assessed in three studies. In the key study, CAS# 756-13-8 had a measured relative density of 1.61 at 20°C to water at 4°C, as determined by a pycnometer method. As the density of water at 4°C has been reported as 0.999973 g/mL1, the relative density is equivalent to an absolute density of 1.61 g/mL. The supporting studies were done using oscillating densitometry. In the first, CAS# 756-13-8 had a measured density of 1.616 g/mL at 20°C and 1.601 g/mL at 25.0°C. In the second supporting study, CAS# 756-13-8 had a measured density of 1.6148 g/ml at 20.8°C and 1.5998 g/mL at 25.6 °C. The key study was performed in accordance with OECD TG109 and EEC-Directive 92/69 EEC, Part A.3, and was compliant with GLP-standards. The supporting studies were not noted as GLP-compliant, and no standard method was cited. OECDTG209§11 permits this method, but requires two fluids be used preferably bracketing the test substance in density. Only one fluid was used in each of the supporting studies. However, the results of the two supporting studies are in excellent agreement despite having been calibrated using different liquids and having been reported over two years apart. Further, the two supporting studies are in agreement with the results of the key study. Therefore, the results of the key study are accepted as the density of CAS# 756-13-8.
