First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, move to fresh air.  Treat symptomatically.

Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water.  Get medical attention if symptoms


Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water.  Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for adjacent fire. Use fog or spray

extinguishing media. Powdered material may form explosive

dust-air mixtures. Fire or high temperatures may cause

products (oxides of nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, and

hydrogen chloride).

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: High temperatures (>245 degrees C) will cause decomposition.

Chemical reaction with water: Not hazardous.  Experience in use and structure activity

relationships indicate that the test substance is not

hazardous in contact with water or humid air.

Dust explosion: Powdered material may form explosive dust-air mixtures.

Minimize dust generation and accumulation.  Use only in well

ventilated areas.  Keep away from sources of ignition.  Keep

from contact with oxidizing materials.

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be sufficient

to destroy the substance.  Combustion will produce oxides of

nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, and hydrogen chloride.

Incineration with flue gas scrubbing should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Based on a Log Kow >5.19 and a Log Henry's Law Constant <1,

the SIMPLETREAT analysis predicts 85% removal from secondary

wastewater treatment (adsorption to sludge).
